walking V0.2 UPDATE || News & Info - 1


Hello to all, my name is Joey and I am a novice "programmer", but you can refer to me as indiegamedevguy101.

"walking" is my first game and while it is still in active development, I am proud of what it is.

This project was inspired by "The Beginner's Guide" and is ENTIRELY scripted using ChatGPT. This project was more of an experiment, and yes, I plan to start the learning process of true programming real soon. My goal in this particular project was to just start something, learn from it, then finish and post it as a game for all you wonderful people to play.

While I have reached my main goals within this project, the current V0.1 BUILD has some small bugs and poor game design choices that will be addressed in the upcoming V0.2 UPDATE. (LIST OF BUG FIXES/GAME DESIGN CHANGES BELOW)

NOTE - I will be taking a week or two away from this project as I was working 5-6 hours a day

BUG FIXES (To Be Addressed)

  • Code Optimization (will be worked on throughout builds)
  • PlayerSpawn Room Dialogue Trigger
  • PlayerSpawn Room Trap Door Triggers
  • Maze Ceiling Collision
  • SplashScreen Scene Load

GAME DESIGN CHANGES (To Be Addressed)

  • Raise Ceiling and Lighting
  • Reposition Dialogue Text Meshes
  • Shorten unnecessary dialogue text
  • Create Doors that Player Must Choose From to Enter Mazes
  • Skybox Rotation of Stars

My plan is to get back to the development of this project within the (9th - 16th) of December. Subsequently, CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS DAY, and NEW YEARS EVE will take another THREE days out of the 16th schedule timeframe so expect the V0.2 UPDATE to roll out sometime around the 23rd of December or the 2nd of January.
